Economics can be defined in three main ways: as a social science that studies how individuals, businesses, and governments allocate resources to satisfy their needs and wants; as the study of how scarce resources are allocated to produce goods and services; and as the analysis of how individuals and societies make choices to maximize their well-being. These definitions highlight the importance of understanding how resources are used and distributed in society to achieve economic growth and prosperity. By studying economics, we can gain insights into how individuals and societies make decisions in the face of scarcity and how policies can be designed to improve overall welfare.
