Energy fundamentals is a university course that provides an introduction to energy concepts, including the definition of energy, units of energy, forms of energy, and energy conversion and conservation. Students will explore topics such as thermodynamics, the first and second laws of thermodynamics, heat engines and efficiency, renewable and non-renewable energy sources, electricity fundamentals, energy efficiency and conservation, environmental impacts of energy use, energy policy and economics, and energy storage technologies. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and practices related to energy production, consumption, and sustainability.
