Groundwater i is an introductory university course that covers the basics of groundwater hydrology, including topics such as the hydrologic cycle, porosity, permeability, aquifers, and aquitards. Students will learn about groundwater storage, aquifer properties, types of aquifers, groundwater flow equations, Darcy's Law, groundwater contamination and transport, groundwater-surface water interactions, groundwater management and sustainability, legal and policy frameworks for groundwater, and groundwater modeling and simulation. Through case studies and practical applications, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance of groundwater and the challenges associated with its management and protection.
